A New Day for Public Safety in Alameda County

The fight to Save Alameda for Everybody continues.

We won! We recalled Pamela Price with support from 65% of Alameda County voters.

We welcome Superior Court Judge Ursula Jones Dickson to serve as our new District Attorney and look forward to working together.

Superior Court Judge Ursula Jones was sworn in on Feb. 18, 2025.

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors selected Superior Court Judge Ursula Jones Dickson to serve as replacement for Price to serve for two years.

Voters will select a new DA in 2026 to finish out the remainder of Price’s term, which ends in 2028.

Now what?

Two months after Pamela Price was recalled, Alameda County supervisors appointed Superior Court Judge Ursula Jones Dickson to serve as the new district attorney. Jones will serve as District Attorney until the next general election in 2026. (The current term is an irregular six-year term. The next regular DA term, beginning January 2029, will go back to being a four-year term.)

SAFE recommended Ursula Jones Dickson for the role of Alameda County District Attorney to the Board of Supervisors based on her unwavering dedication to justice, proven leadership, and clear vision for addressing the challenges facing Alameda County.
